The UCPath Center is the University of California's shared services center in Riverside, CA. The UCPath Center manages the payroll, benefits, and other human resources transactions for more than 200,000 UC employees working across ten UC campuses, five medical centers, three national labs and more. Position Summary
Serves as the lead PeopleSoft HCM functional IT contact within various business workstreams including providing PeopleSoft support, content expertise, and business process best practices. In support of UC customers, applies advanced business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define highly complex PeopleSoft solutions. Validates technical solutions built by UCOP technical teams and develops test cases by writing detailed test scripts and executes test plans. Documents business process improvement efforts using best practices and resolves production support issues. Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst performs complex tasks related to the support, maintenance, testing and enhancement of PeopleSoft HCM. May handle moderately complex projects independently.

Analyzes business needs, creates detail PeopleSoft business requirements and functional designs, develops/validates PeopleSoft solutions leveraging PeopleSoft knowledge and best practices while working closely with UCPath customers and UCOP technical teams. Considers the business implications of applying technology to the current and future PeopleSoft business environment. Prepares and obtains approval for business process and procedural documentation.

Develops test cases and test scripts for the preparation and execution of system testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing according to test plans. Completes through detailed test cases execution to ensure software and reports are functioning properly.

Provides PeopleSoft end user support including completing system demonstrations, and provides PeopleSoft best practice consultation, training and functional IT support. Initiates, designs or modifies highly complex systems and procedures where standardized policies or procedures may or may not exist. Gathers and analyzes data to prepare business process and procedural documentation. Performs activities required for changes in PeopleSoft maintenance and system standards.

Lead PeopleSoft projects including developing/managing resource and task plans and managing end user documentation activities.

Leads cross-functional teams to address business process or systems issues during testing and operational activities. Works with other functional support resources and makes solution recommendations to ensure user requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner. May lead the implementation of approved solutions.

Performs software evaluation and configuration activities as required. Determines how to support new applications or leverage PeopleSoft enhancements as required.

Works closely with UCOP technical teams to ensure system specifications and system changes meets functional and business requirements.
Experience Required Qualifications
Five to seven years of relevant PeopleSoft HCM IT work experience including advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM business processes and procedures. Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 and above.
Skills and Abilities Required Qualifications
Experience performing PeopleSoft business analyst functions including writing functional design specifications, developing test scripts, managing/updating configuration, implementing best practice solutions and providing ongoing support as required.
Expertise with complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
Experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies and practices including waterfall and Agile.
Advanced skills and methodologies associated with software design, modification and implementation.
Experience with working directly with end users in a production support environment.
Ability to use SQL or other query tools to perform complex analysis.
Experience with leading projects.
Strong customer service and organizational skills.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Payroll: In depth knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft Payroll for North America module including delivered and custom processes.
Experience in a higher education institution is highly preferred.
Experience developing and managing project plans is highly desired.
Education Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position requires occasional up to frequent non-standard and/or on-call work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement within the state of California. The selected candidate must reside within the state of California, or be willing to relocate, and may be required to report to work in person at the UCPath Center in Riverside, CA.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
