The Business Analyst assists UC Davis Health to increase its output and enhance its efficiency through a variety of operational responsibilities and process improvement activities for the Supply Chain and Contracting Services Division. The incumbent assesses existing solutions, analyzes their functionality, efficiency and productivity, and then helps the organization design, develop and implement new solutions that align with business requirements. The incumbent must have an equal mix of technical knowledge and business acumen. They must have the ability to locate both business and technical problems and identify potential solutions. The senior business analyst is responsible for drafting detailed plans, writing technical specifications, and has the ability to keep an eye on the finances of projects and take project budget constraints into consideration. In addition, the role is critical in identifying and driving process improvement and efficiency initiatives, team financial and budget analysis, and fostering both intra- and inter-team communications and cooperation.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and progressively responsible professional experience.
Experience managing and leading diverse groups, peers, managers and others in a highly matrix environment to meeting project schedules.
Relevant experience related to Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Sourcing, or Finance.
Extensive experience as a business or systems analyst leading large scale initiatives and projects.
Experience creating and executing test plans.
Experience creating and managing project schedules, manage multiple activities and priorities, and maintain productivity.
Experience setting priorities, organizing work, and meeting deadlines.
Experience leading and organizing implementation and training activities.
Experience with developing policies, procedures and implementing solutions to complex problem.
Experience being creative and a strategic thinker and problem-solver; proven ability to see and contribute to the big picture.
Experience recognizing the need for and maintaining security of confidential information; exercise judgment, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information or situations.
Experience working independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architectures and systems analysis methodologies and practices including traditional waterfall, Agile, Agile Scrum, UML, UML Enterprise, et cetera.
Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization.
Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation.
Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans.
Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.

Experience with management in a complex healthcare environment.

In depth knowledge of the most current supply chain best practices and systems.

Work Environment
