Position Summary
The Student ERP Security Administrator will be responsible for maintaining user access to Rice University's Student ERP (Banner). Duties will include oversights of the annual security review of related Student Systems as well as day-to-day access needs.

Requirements

Essential Functions
- Maintains/Manages user access to Student ERP (Ellucian Banner). Provision and disable accounts on an as-needed basis.
- Manages application and data security access requests including interpreting and analyzing the requests regarding system configuration; routing to appropriate departments for approval and tracking status; implementing the approved access request through established procedures, online forms, and SQL database.
- Manages the annual security review process and assist with audit compliance requests.
- Provisions user accounts and roles to supported systems.
- Assists in implementing and monitoring application access permissions.
- Assists with the day-to-day information security operations and help with the implementation of the Information Security Strategic Plan to enforce HIPAA, FERPA, and general confidentiality protocols in the maintenance of person records.
- Conducts routine system audits for users and access across our Student Systems.
- Ensures maintenance and integrity of data.
- Prevents inappropriate disclosure of data and use of computing resources.
- Resolves access problems and consults with users to determine if access is appropriate.
- Provides information to management and external resources for audit purposes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Additional Functions
- Runs SQL scripts to create reports and provide functional departments with needed data.
- Checks for periodic updates/patches on the ERP vendor portal and coordinate maintenance with the administrative team.
- Participates in all testing activities as well as execute validation testing of any new or changed roles.
Preferences
- Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline (i.e. Computer Science)
- 1 year related experience administering and configuring complex enterprise-level business application systems and executing, reviewing, and documenting production job streams for successful completion
- 1 year related experience in a customer service environment providing solutions and problem resolution
- Experience in a Higher Education environment specifically using Ellucian Banner or PeopleSoft
- Experience in PL/SQL scripting
- Ability to participate in and contribute to projects and initiatives to successful completion
- Ability to prepare reports and briefings that can be understood by a variety of technical and non-technical audience
- Ability to self-start and take initiative in completing daily tasks and special projects
