Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Student Systems, the Student ERP Systems Analyst/Developer works with end users to analyze business processes, configure package software, and design, develop, implement, and maintain complex application and utility software in support of the University's Student Information Systems. S/he provides technical support and maintenance of systems and technologies that enable the client applications to interact with the database.
The ideal candidate is someone with backend Banner experience, some Oracle database knowledge, has worked with functional users and can customize both self-service and admin pages.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted
- Five years of combined experience in Higher Ed ERP backend and/or application development using MVC architecture
- In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted
- Skills
- Ability to design, develop, test, and deploy ERP applications
- Proficiency with application design and data modeling
- Ability to define and solve logical problems for highly technical applications
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical clients
- PL/SQL technical skills and strong analytical analysis
- Ability to lead activities on structured team development projects
- Ability to select, adapt, and effectively use a variety of programming methods
- Understanding of workflows and security implications to processes supported
Essential Functions
- Conceptualizes design, implement, and develop solutions for complex systems/programs independently
- Works with a variety of users to gain information, and develops intra-system tradeoffs between different users, as necessary
- Interacts with a diverse client base and outside vendor contacts
- Documents system builds and application configurations
- Maintains and updates documentation as needed
- Provides technical analysis, design, development, conversion, and implementation work
- Provides production system support and issue resolution
- Serves as a technical resource for applications
- Implements new features and technologies, and integrates them into the computing environment
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Preferences
- Experience
- Experience in designing/customizing Banner 9 self-service pages is strongly preferred
- Troubleshooting Ellucian Banner middleware technical issues
- Administering the Banner 9 application and its middleware;
- Administering Ellucian/Banner 3rd party products, such as DegreeWorks and Touchnet
- Skills
- Knowledge of Banner 9 apps and their functionality
- Knowledge of report writing tools such as Argos Reporting or Tableau
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Shell, Perl, and Python
- Knowledge of Tomcat, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and RESTful data services
Workplace Requirements
- May require extended hours in the evenings and/or weekends to meet deadlines or during major transitions
- May have long periods using the computer of up to 8 hours a day
