JOB SUMMARY:
The Executive Director - ERP plays a leadership role in the management of the overall Workday systems design, architecture, deployment and creation & implementation of best practices around ERP support and life-cycle management; including policies, processes, procedures and methodology with the supported functional business areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct all project related meetings effectively: kick-off, status, and phase transitions to inform constituents, highlight concerns, and gain consensus and approvals.
Ensure that all business and technology development teams are working together and communicating effectively with the project managers and teams regularly to ensure that they understand what is required of them.
Ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and tools to deliver solutions in line with user expectations and establish realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet objectives.
Partner with business stakeholders, implementation partners, and the Workday deployment team to define and develop long-term technical integrations roadmap supporting various business domains: Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and Research / Grants.
Develop goals and objectives for the department based on interpretation of institutional policy and goals
Provides leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans and defines and implements plans and policies
Ensure a long-range strategy which fits the mission and vision of Vanderbilt University and/or Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Maintains official records and documents and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations
Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends
Create an organizational culture (both within and across departments) that provides a safe, satisfying and enriching environment for employees and provides a qualified, competent staff
Ensures that sound human resource policies and procedures are in place and used consistently
Develops, oversees and/or conducts all staffing strategies
Ensures that staff qualifications are consistent with job responsibilities
Ensures initial orientation training for all new staff and arranges for ongoing staff training
Supervises staff or oversees supervision which is provided by subordinates
Implements personnel policies
Define and achieve financial targets in support of business goals of the institution
Develops and manages budget and prepares financial statements
Responsible for developing and maintaining sound financial practices and obtaining and implementing financial advice
Ensures operations within budget guidelines
Meets or exceeds financial targets
Provide opportunities for communication and collaboration between Vanderbilt University and our community
Develops a broad awareness of departments goals, objectives and activities
Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with other groups and organizations
Represents Vanderbilt University and/or Vanderbilt University Medical Center's point of view to agencies, organizations and the general public
Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive images
Ensure the most effective operations of the department through program development, process improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments
Oversees program development and execution of programs
Oversees planning and development of individual programs and budgets
Develops program evaluation and continual program improvement

Basic Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years experience
Strong knowledge & experience with Workday ERP (preferred)
